Introduction: Grief refers to the emotional response to a significant loss, involving pain and suffering. Objective: Describe meaning and manifestations of grief based on what was expressed by participants in the works- hop "Groups learning from loss" at the Grief Clinic, Center for Health Sciences of the University of Guadalajara. Materials and methods: We interviewed eighty persons and analyzed the information using Alceste software (lexical analyzer) to determine possible correlations between their experiences. Results: Four categories were identified: therapy, resilience, grief, and coping.
