The factors of food production are land, labor and capital. Of these three factors, labor is the controlling factor in the farm program of the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas This is true because of the nature and type of farming done in the valley. The production of fruits, vegetables and berries as well as cotton and grain require a maximum of hand labor due to irrigation, field harvesting, packing and processing
