Brasileños en Chile durante la dictadura militar: Doble refugio 1973-1975

After the coup d’état of 1964 against the government of João Goulart in Brazil and the dictatorships that followed, Brazilians began to leave the country, and many of them sought refuge in other Latin American nations. This paper discusses the case of Brazilian citizens who, having acquired protection and refuge in Chile, had to move once again in 1973 because of the coup d’état of the Armed Forces and the subsequent dictatorial government of General Augusto Pinochet Ugarte, facing a new or double refuge. The review of primary sources focused on the safe-conducts issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, which allows identify the number and condition of those who obtained the refugee status, as well as evidence of the importance of international and national organizations such as UNHCR, CIME, CONAR and FASIC in the protection of expatriates during the military dictatorship in Chile.Keywords: Brazil, double refuge, dictatorship.A partir del golpe de Estado de 1964 contra el gobierno de João Goulart y de las dictaduras que le sucedieron, se produjo la salida de brasileños, muchos de los cuales buscaron refugio en otras naciones de América Latina. Este artículo aborda el caso de ciudadanos brasileños que, habiendo adquirido protección y refugio en Chile, debieron volver a trasladarse al vivir en 1973 el golpe de Estado de las Fuerzas Armadas y posterior gobierno dictatorial del general Augusto Pinochet Ugarte, enfrentándose a un nuevo o doble refugio. La revisión de fuentes primarias centrada en los salvoconductos emitidos por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Chile permite identificar el número y condición de quienes obtuvieron la calidad de refugiados, como, asimismo, evidencia la importancia de organismos internacionales y nacionales como ACNUR, CIME, CONAR y FASIC en la protección de expatriados durante la dictadura militar en Chile.Palabras clave: Brasil, doble refugio, dictadura
