Reflexões sobre violência doméstica: algumas contribuições para (re)pensar a violência contra crianças, adolescentes e mulheres

This article discusses the topic of domestic violence on the basis of a theoretical and investigative dimension. It follows the path of the main current debates on domestic violence, which victimizes children, adolescents, women and the elderly. In fact, this article is a rereading of this phenomenon through the data collected by national and international research, through an interdisciplinary view and on the basis of the main theoretical issues that are relevant for its comprehension. It aims at pointing out some theoretical and practical aspects that are important for the knowledge, understanding and action of all persons who are interested and/or involved in domestic violence. It is a globalized phenomenon that does not have geopolitical and economic boarders; it does not make distinctions of age, race, gender or creed. However, it causes more serious consequences when it affects black and poor women (children, adolescents, adults or elderly). It is an (in)visible phenomenon which in most cases requires external agents who are capable of confronting and combating it. This leads to interdisciplinary ways of comprehension due to the complexity of the phenomenon. Since research in this field (domestic violence versus victims and aggressors) is relatively new (’80s), it is indispensable to promote an investigation that reveals the meaning of this phenomenon and the forms of resistance in the realm of family relationships. Domestic violence generates human and social needs that require competent and qualified responses from society, the family and the State. Citizens, institutions and professionals should be more sensitized, better informed and prepared for actions of prevention and intervention. Key words: domestic violence, family, qualitative research.O texto trata da temática da violência doméstica, a partir das dimensões teórica e investigativa. Buscou-se trilhar o caminho dos principais e atuais debates acerca da violência doméstica, que vitimiza crianças e adolescentes, mulheres e idosos(as). Trata-se de uma releitura do fenômeno através dos dados coletados pelas pesquisas nacionais e internacionais, do olhar interdisciplinar, das principais questões teóricas fundamentais para sua compreensão. O objetivo é pontuar aspectos, teóricos e práticos, importantes para o conhecimento, entendimento e ação de todas as pessoas interessadas e/ou envolvidas pela e com a temática da violência doméstica. É um fenômeno globalizado, que não apresenta fronteiras geopolíticas e econômicas; não faz distinção de idade, raça, gênero ou credo. No entanto, traz conseqüências mais agudas quando atinge mulheres (crianças, adolescentes, adultas ou idosas) negras e pobres. É um fenômeno (in)visível, que necessita, na maior parte das vezes, de agentes externos capazes de enfrentá-lo e combatê-lo. Isto leva a caminhos interdisciplinares de compreensão, dada a complexidade deste fenômeno. Considerando-se ser relativamente nova (década de 80) a atenção à violência doméstica, às vítimas e aos agressores, tornam-se imprescindíveis pesquisas reveladoras do significado do fenômeno e das formas de resistência no âmbito das relações e dinâmicas familiares, sob o olhar dos próprios implicados. A violência doméstica gera necessidades humanas e sociais que exigem respostas competentes e de qualidade por parte da sociedade, da família e do Estado. Cidadãos, instituições e profissionais devem estar cada vez mais sensibilizados, informados e capacitados para a ação de prevenção, intervenção e responsabilização.
