This research aims at comparing family functioning, symptoms of depression, and perception of stressor events in mothers of children/adolescents with autism, and children without symptoms. 18 mothers participated in the study, separated in two groups named G1, and G2. G1 was composed by 9 mothers of children/adolescents with autism, in psychotherapy process for more than two years, and G2 was composed by 9 mothers of children without autism. Mothers from both groups were paired by age, financial status, education, and also number and age of children.
