Identidades latinoamericanas em Porto Alegre y Barcelona, interculturalidad y medios de comunicación

This article is based on the research project Media and Interculturality (CAPES/MECD), carried out between 2004 and 2008 with Latin American and European migrants in the metropolitan areas of Porto Alegre and Barcelona by the research groups PROCESSOCOM, MIGRACOM and Media and Multiculturalism. The investigation dealt with theories, reports, databases, statistics and media texts, but it gave special attention to the testimonials of the historical subjects who are the protagonists of these relevant adventures of contemporary survival. Its goal was to increase knowledge about the production of cultural identities, communication skills and creation of meaning in settings of estrangement, configured in inter-relationship with industrial media systems. Key words: Latin American identities, media processes, migrations.El artículo se fundamenta en la investigación Media e Interculturalidad (CAPES/MECD), realizada entre 2004 e 2008 con migrantes latinoamericanos e europeos en las regiones metropolitanas de Porto Alegre y Barcelona por los grupos de investigación PROCESSOCOM, MIGRACOM e Media e Multiculturalismo. La investigación trabajó teorías, informes, bancos de datos, estadísticas, textos mediáticos; pero, especialmente dio valor central al testimonio de los sujetos históricos protagonistas de estas relevantes aventuras de sobre-vivencia contemporáneas. Su objetivo fue profundizar conocimientos sobre producción de identidades culturales, competencias comunicativas y construcción de sentidos en escenarios de extrañamiento, configurados en interrelación con sistemas mediáticos industriales.
