In Book II of Plato’s Republic, after the praise of justice as part of the most beautiful class of goods by Socrates, Glaucon responds by saying that this is not the opinion of the majority (????? ... ???????). Our work aims to investigate who are the polloi presented by Glaucon as a counter-argument to Socrates. For this we will use a specific part of his speech: the myth of Gyges’ ring.
