This article intertwines the educational expectations of the community that inhabits the Sur del Tolima Irrigation District (DRTT) with the review of 8 peasant educational experiences and 5 of rural higher education that constitute references to build a proposal for agroecological rural higher education for the DRTT. The categories of analysis, as much as for the interviews carried out with local residents, and for the experiences studied are interculturality and intergenerationality. The principles, curricula and methodologies of the experiences are presented, which are in line with the expectations and contributions provided by the local actors.
