The issue is the result of a workshop about urban transformation in Rome focusing on the role of architecture competitions as a way for quality diffuson. In the last 10 years, Roma has started an intensive process of urban trasformation that it has involved many areas, in the first time the centre and in the second time the suburbs of the city, provoking important changes. MenoèPiù, one of the programs, draws a system of new parks, squares, schools and some buildings in the new periphery. These competitions of idea, with the partecipation of many italian architects, make new urban settings and future architectures where they mark a sequence capital’s transformation.
