When referring to the proposal of “Education in/from the Countryside”, it refers to the need to build a pedagogy contextualized in the valorization and diversity of subjects, in order to contemplate the heterogeneity of the reality of the peoples that inhabit the vast Brazilian countryside. This movement takes place as a counterpoint to the proposal of rural education, which emerged from the 1930s in the country and aimed at disseminating only technical education, uncritical of the capitalist system, disregarding the environmental, political, economic, social and cultural aspects of the people living in the countryside and, therefore, focused only on training manpower.
