dissertationThis study focuses on the narrative of women writers from the Northern Mexican border, who started publishing at the end of the twentieth century. I specifically analyze the anthology of short stories En la tarima, and the novel Como cashora al sol by Rosina Conde; and the anthology of short stories Bajo el puente: Relatos desde la frontera, and the novel Árboles o apuntes de viaje by Rosario Sanmiguel. Both authors position themselves as writers of feminist texts that defy the literary canons of both sides of the border. Their writing reconfigures the representation of women as a literary character within Mexican literature, as well as the border, beyond its geopolitical aspect of migration.
