Perbandingan aspek morfologi dalam Hikayat Melayu Klasik dan Novel Melayu Moden = Comparison of morphological aspects in classical Malay history and modern Malay novel

This comparative study was conducted through the content analysis method to identify morphological features; comparing the differences in language features in the Classical Malay manuscript (Hikayat Malim Deman) and the Modern Malay manuscript (Ombak Rindu novel) and examining whether the morphological features are observed based on the Dewan Grammar book Third Edition (2011). against the Classical Malay manuscript, namely Hikayat Malim Deman, the Modern Malay manuscript through the novel Ombak Rindu and compared with the morphological features presented in the book Tatabahasa Dewan Third Edition (2011). The researcher analyzed the two works selected based on the book Grammar Hall Third Edition (2011) for morphological aspects consisting of (i) affixes, namely prefix affixes, suffixes, insertions, suffixes, empty morphemes, inflectional forms, and (ii) words, namely singular words, derivative words, compound words, and double words. Findings of the study on morphological features in the novel Ombak Rindu show that there is the use of affixes, namely prefixes, suffixes, insertions, suffixes, empty morphemes, inflectional forms, singular words, derivative words, compound words, and double words. The findings of morphological features in Hikayat Malim Deman are more complex with the use of cliché and ancient root words; adjusting the language of the palace; the affirmative word and lah; Arabic words; the use of adverbs, conjunctions, and auxiliaries; the use of prefixes, suffixes and suffixes, variations in the use of adjectives and classical Malay vocabulary
