PERBEDAAN KUALITAS DAN INFORMASI CITRA ANTARA SEKUEN T2 TSE GRAPPA DENGAN T2 TSE TANPA GRAPPA : STUDI PADA PEMERIKSAAN THORACAL DENGAN IRISAN SAGITAL

The problem that often occurs in thoracic MRI examinations is the presence of artifact disturbances in the image. Artifacts can be minimized by reducing scan time. Generalized Autocalibrating Partially Parallel Acquisition (GRAPPA) has the advantage of speeding up scanning time but has the disadvantage of affecting SNR. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in image quality of SNR, CNR, scan time and anatomical information on thoracic MRI examinations on T2 TSE GRAPPA and T2 TSE sequences without GRAPPA sagittal slices.This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental approach. This research was conducted with a 1.5 T MRI at the Diagnostic Radiology Installation of Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto with 10 volunteers. Data in the form of 20 thoracic MRI images of T2 TSE GRAPPA and T2 TSE sequences without GRAPPA with R factor 3, SNR measurements were taken with an ROI of 0.05 mm2 in four organs, namely the vertebral body, intervertebral disc, spinal cord and ligamentum flavum, then the SNR was calculated again to determine the CNR value. Record the scan time of both sequences. Anatomical assessment was carried out by two radiology specialists by filling out a questionnaire. The data from the SNR and CNR measurements were statistically processed by the paired T test and the data from the questionnaires were processed by the Cohen's Kappa test and the Wilcoxon test.The results of the paired T-test of SNR and CNR revealed that there was no significant difference in thoracic MRI examination between T2 TSE GRAPPA sequences and T2 TSE without GRAPPA sagittal slices. The T2 TSE GRAPPA sequence had a 63% faster scan time than the T2 TSE sequence without GRAPPA. The results of the Wilcoxon test for anatomical information showed that the p value was 0.132 (p>0.05), which means that there was no significant difference in anatomical information on thoracic MRI examination between T2 TSE GRAPPA sequences and T2 TSE without GRAPPA sagittal slices. In conclusion, although there is a decrease in SNR and CNR in the T2 TSE GRAPPA sequence, it still provides good image quality and information because there is no significant difference between the two sequences, besides the use of GRAPPA has a short scan time so as to minimize the occurrence of artifacts
