ANALYSIS OF THE LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING OF TRADERS ON TRADE ZAKAT (Case Study : Manis Market Purwokerto Banyumas Jawa Tengah)

ABSTRACT Zakat is an obligation for muslims who have fulfilled the pillars and conditions for the issuance of zakat, as well as trade zakat. Trade zakat, namely zakat issued on property ownership intended for buying and selling, and those who carry out commerce or buying and selling are traders. In fulfilling trade zakat, understanding is needed, namely the ability to understand the meaning of a lesson material, such as interpreting, explaining or summarizing an understandig. This study aims to find out how traders understand about trade zakat in Pasar Manis Purwokerto. This study uses a qualitative approach and in collecting data the methods of observation, interviews, and dosumentation are used. The technique used by researchers to analyze the data obtained is triangulation technique. This triangulation technique uses more micro natural methods, namely how to use several methods of data collection and data analysist at the same time in a study, including using informants as a toll to test the validity and analysist of research results. The assumption is the that the information obtained by the research through observation will be accurate if interviews are also used or documentation materials are used to correct the validity of the information obtained by both methods. The results of the study show that: traders understanding of trade zakat in Pasar Manis Purwokerto is still lacking or low. This is because traders tend to equate zakat and alms, and terms of trade zakat, both in terms of haul and nishab due to various factors. In this case, it also affects the non-implementation of trade zakat as it should. Keywords : understanding, merchant, trade zakat
