Monolithic and laminated glass elements are frequently subjected to buckling phenomena. Nevertheless, several aspects make complex the description of their structural response through analytical models of general applicability. In addition, classical models proposed by standards for the verification of steel, timber or composite structures cannot be directly applied to glass, since they do not taken into account some aspects typical of glass elements.
