The 13C NMR spectra of thiazolopyridine systems are discussed. One-bond and long-range 13C-1H coupling constants were determined from line splittings and a simple method for distinguishing between 2-methylthiazolo-and 3-methylisothiazolopyridines is suggested. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons Ltd
