AIM: Experimental and clinical evidence supports the view that right ventricular hypertrophy (RVH) may parallel left ventricular hypertrophy in systemic hypertension; a comprehensive analysis of this issue, however, is lacking. Thus, we analyzed the literature in order to provide an updated information on the right ventricular structural changes associated to systemic hypertension.
