The present paper provides a brief overview of recent developments in the study of fatigue behavior of plain and Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete (SFRC). The research was carried out from the material point of view by studying the low-cycle fatigue behavior of cracked concrete. The fatigue performance of plain and SFRC, as deduced from the preliminary results of an ongoing experimental research campaign, are compared. Despite the conflicting information regarding the fatigue behavior of concrete reported in literature, these research studies highlighted that the inclusion of fibers can improve the fatigue performance of concrete depending on the fibre volume content
