We study the transmission of knowledge arising from working relationships established by inventors, and its impact on firms\u2019 innovation production. The study\u2019s contribution to the literature is twofold. First, we consider those relationships that originate through inventor connections (\u201dmulti-applicant\u201d inventors) and inventor mobility. Second, we analyse their effect on companies\u2019 innovation production. The study focuses on the role played by geographical proximity, and the dynamic effects of knowledge flows.
