HUBUNGAN TINGKAT STRES DENGAN TEKANAN DARAH PADA LANSIA DI POSYANDU LANSIA WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS JENANGAN KABUPATEN PONOROGO

Stress conditions in the elderly make the body produce more adrenaline, so the heart works stronger and faster. The stress experienced by the elderly will affect the increase in blood pressure which tends to persist or can even increase, causing the condition of hypertension to become more severe. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between stress levels and blood pressure in the elderly at the Elderly Posyandu in the Jenangan Health Center area. This research method is quantitative using a cross sectional design. The population in this study were the elderly in the elderly Posyandu working area of the Jenangan Public Health Center. The sample in this study was 55 elderly. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Analysis of statistical test data used is Chi Square. The results showed that from 55 elderly, most of the research subjects (87.2%) or a number of 48 elderly experienced Stress Levels and (85.5%) or 47 elderly experienced abnormal blood pressure. Based on statistical tests, the p-value on the Pearson chi-square is 0.023 < 0.055, so it can be concluded that there is no relationship between stress and blood pressure in the elderly at the Elderly Posyandu, Jenangan Village, Jenangan District, Ponorogo Regency. The results of the study are expected to be an evaluation for respondents so that they can manage stress so that blood pressure can be stable and does not have a further impact on their health conditions. As a health worker, it is hoped that they can provide continuous education to the elderly, especially those with abnormal blood pressure in order to manage things that affect abnormal blood pressure, one of which is stress
