Le développement de complexes organométalliques cytotoxiques constitue un domaine prometteur dans la recherche de nouveaux agents de chimiothérapie. Les complexes d’iridium(III) à ligand arène (ou semi-sandwich) sont actuellement étudiés à cet effet, néanmoins leur mécanisme d’action reste mal défini à l’échelle moléculaire. Dans cet esprit, nous avons introduit une série de dix complexes semisandwich originaux comportant un ligand chélatant de type phényloxazoline. La toxicité de ces complexes dans la lignée HeLa a pu être partiellement corrélée à leur capacité à produire du peroxyde d’hydrogène à partir de NADH, démontrée à la fois in vitro et in vivo.
