Višestruko rezistentne bakterije predstavljaju veliki javnozdravstveni problem, a veliki izazov predstavlja kontrola njihovog širenja. Jedna od potencijalnih metoda njihovog suzbijanja bi mogla biti primjena fotodinamičke inaktivacije. Cilj ovog rada bio je ispitati fotodinamički učinak kationskog porfirina TMPyP3 u različitim medijima u kombinaciji s izvorom ljubičaste svjetlosti u vremenskom intervalu od 10 minuta (LED lampa, valne duljine od 395 nm, intenziteta svjetlosti od 20 mW/cm2 i ukupne doze svjetlosti od 12 J/cm2).
