The secondary settlement of a bio-mechanical pre-treated Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) was investigated in this work by using a large oedometer compression cell and by analysing the results with the SWANA and the Bayard models. Simultaneous measurements of strain and biogas production were carried out for two tests, one of which gave a very low biogas production. Few assumptions regarding the relationship between the loss of solid volume and the biogas production allowed modelling both test results, with a satisfying agreement. For this pre-treated MSW, the relative amount of mechanical and biological components was of the same order of magnitude
