Design experiments for the Domitian coast masterplan

The project starts from a study of the Domitian Coast Masterplan drawn up by the architect Andreas Kipar. The objective of the Plan is to better interpret the strategic lines of eco-sustainable development, concretely aiming at the valorisation of the resources in an area of 75,000 hectares with a stable population of about 370,000 inhabitants. The general redefinition project starts from strengthening the attractors already present in the area. This can be done by implementing and valorising the identity of the places, while also reinforcing both the concept of community as well as the important relationship with the sea. The new projects and development indications will be in line with the European directives on zero land consumption as well as with the requests coming from the territory, in order to generate a model of peaceful coexistence between the eco-sustainable and economic compatibility requirements resulting from the tourism – territorial valorisation. The starting point becomes the landscape in a general sense, no longer intended as a physical place to be preserved tout court, something that has not managed to avert the significant looting that has been carried out for years, but rather becomes the driving force of sustainable development through the use of waterways and wetlands, naturalistic areas as well as historical and archaeological areas. In the future, it is imagined that the landscape could become a cultured type of tourist attraction, ranging from bathing to nature areas, integrated with the extensive agricultural system
