International audienceContemporary debates on the democratisation of work often focus on a field of 'corporate governance' composed of institutions and practices that are thought of in analogy with the legitimate politics of liberal democracies. Rather than assuming that politics refers necessarily to the definition of a corporate common good, I suggest observing how work is politicised in situation. Taking as a starting point the socio-historical study of an experience of recovery and democratisation of a small industrial company in the North of France, at the end of the 1970s, the article identifies three registers of "industrial citizenship", thus showing that the democratisation of work is a stake of struggles.
