Immune regulation is essential to protect peripheral tissues under homeostatic conditions as well as during inflammation. In this study, the role of forkhead box P3 (Foxp3)-expressing regulatory T cells (Tregs) and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC), two cell populations with immune regulatory functions, was investigated in the steady state and in acute infection, respectively.
