In dieser Arbeit wurden die Synthese, die Eigenschaften und die Struktur-Eigenschafts-Beziehungen von ungesättigten Polyesterharzen (UP-Harzen) untersucht, die aus Monomeren hergestellt werden, die biobasiert darstellbar sind. Als ungesättigte Dicarbonsäure wurde die Itaconsäure verwendet und mit verschiedenen Diolen wie 2,3-Butandiol, 1,2-Propandiol, Ethylenglycol, 1,3-Propandiol und 1,4-Butandiol bei 180 °C zunächst autokatalytisch, anschließend mit einem Übergangsmetallkatalysator polymerisiert. Die Ruhescherviskositäten wurden mittels Rheometer, die Molmassenverteilungen mittels SEC, die Restmonomergehalte mittels GC bestimmt.
