In order to compare the comfort properties of racing wheels using a quantitative approach, a new method for measuring the wheels vibration transmissibility was developed, simulating road conditions. Four different racing rear wheels were mounted on the same bicycle frame, hinged at the front axle and loaded at the saddle by a wooden dummy bottom carrying deadweights. A servohydraulic cylinder applied at the tire contact point allowed to evaluate the magnitude of the transfer function between the input acceleration at the tire and the output acceleration at the rear axle, in the range 1-100 Hz.
