As confirmed by the World Health Organization, dementias are considered a public health priority. An increase of 10 million cases per year is recognized, placing it among the ten main causes of death in the world. The psychological conceptualization of dementia benefits from comprehensive analysis, from different perspectives, to improve its understanding and approach. This paper presents an analysis of the scientific literature with the aim of comparing, from a psychoneurobiological perspective, the three main cortical dementias: Alzheimer’s Disease, Frontotemporal Dementia and Lewy Body Dementia.
