In the first half of February 2020, the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) assigned the definitive name to the new coronavirus: "severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus2" (SARS- CoV-2). On February 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the respiratory disease caused by the new coronavirus would have been called COVID-19.
