Perfectionism, as defined by the Merriam-Webster English Dictionary, is \u27a disposition to regard anything short of perfection as unacceptable.\u27 In the increasingly competitive academic environment of today, students are becoming more obsessed with perfection than ever before. In this project, I will be researching what the effects of the pursuit of perfection are on a typical college student, as well as explaining how I believe the issue could affect a hall of residents. The best way to combat perfectionism in an academic setting, is to educate students that perfectionism is not only unnecessary in higher education, but it can be harmful to their well-being
