A Research on Producing Concrete Using Sea Sand, and Seawater of Nha Trang Beach, Khanh Hoa Province

Concrete is a popular building material in construction and is normally made from cement, coarse aggregate (crushed rock, gravel), fine aggregate (natural sand), water and admixtures. In Vietnam, river sand is commonly used as fine aggregate to make concrete. Due to the development needs of society, river sand is being over - exploited to serve construction activities, affecting the environment and increasing construction costs. Therefore, there should be another material such as sea sand and seawater that can replace river sand, fresh water to make concrete. This research on concrete production using sea sand, and seawater of Nha Trang beach, Khanh Hoa province is to evaluate time-dependent development of compressive strength of concrete with sea sand and seawater, and the possibility of using sea sand and seawater to produce concrete for construction works
