Delirium is a dystopian novel written by Lauren Oliver. In this novel, there is a depiction on how power and ruling position could be achieved by utilizing a process of negotiating beliefs and values rather than conducting a full coercive domination. The government as the dominant class in this novel initiates its attempt to gain power and ruling position from the people in the society through indoctrinating ideology by the apparatuses before finally gains the consensus from the dominated class.
