The LaNiO3 particles are prepared by a citrate gel method. The LaNiO3 nanoparticles are characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), thermo-gravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), SBET measurements. The results demonstrate that the single phase of LaNiO3 is formed at 650oC. The photocatalytic activity of LaNiO3 is also evaluated and investigated for the degradation of β-naphthol under the UVA irradiation. The UV results show that there is a significant decrease in concentration of β-naphthol in all samples after 300 min irradiation.
