John Dewey (1859 - 1952) was an outstanding philosopher, psychologist and educational reformer of the United States with ideas that were imprinted in the process of educational and social reform. John Dewey\'s educational philosophy has been realized not only in the United States but also in many European and Asian countries. In this article, the author examines the following points: First, analyzing the criticism of John Dewey for educational content in traditional education; Second, requests were made by John Dewey for educational content in progressive, democratic and modern education; Third, suggestions from Dewey\'s perspective on educational content for teaching Marx – Lenin philosophy in Vietnam today
