High-spin states in130Sm were populated in the reaction114Cd(29Si,4n) at a bombarding energy of 128 MeV. Subsequent de-excitation was studied using gamma-ray spectroscopic methods. The change of the level patterns in the odd-even nuclei around N=78 is discussed
