The research renew interest in the use of naturally occurring antioxidants in food industry. Origanum vulgare and Lippia turbinata essential oils had different volatile composition.Moreover Origanum had higher total phenolic compounds, radical scavenging activity on DPPH and anti-lipase activity than Lippia. However these essential oils did not showed significant differences in their oxidative stabilty determined by Rancimat test
