The silicon pixel detector (SPD) comprises the two innermost layers of the inner tracking system of the ALICE experiment at LHC. Prototype SPD assemblies have been tested in high-energy proton and pion beams at the CERN SPS. The method used for data analysis and the most relevant results in relation to detector performance are presented
