Most of medium access control (MAC) protocols proposed for wireless sensor networks (WSN)are targeted only for single main objective, the energy efficiency. critical parameters such as bandwidth utilization, low-latency,, scalability, and fairness, are treated as secondary objectives. In this paper, it is focused on the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer in WSNs & an Optimized MAC scheme, for WSNs is proposed that extends lifetime of the network. This MAC protocol will solve energy inefficiency considering nodes latency based on network traffic and increases Packet delivery ratio.
