This study aims at examining determinants of farmers' participation in rice contract farming led by Loc Troi firm. Data used for this study was gathered from 110 rice growers, consisting of 58 contract farmers and 52 independent farmers. The household survey was conducted in Vinh Binh commune, Chau Thanh district, An Giang province in September 2016. The Student's t-test for mean value comparison and a probit regression were applied to data analysis. The findings susgest that a household head with higher level of education and longer experience in rice farming is unlikely to participate in the contract scheme.
