The article aims to analyze history of the Quasi-war in the Franco - American relations from 1798 to 1800. The content focuses on the outbreak, the happenings and the end of the war. Based on the use of historical methods and other research ones, the results showed that the Quasi-war is a special event in the French-American relations from the signing of alliance treaty. The nature of the war arose from the conflicts of interest on trade neutrality in the late XVIII century. At the same time, the Franco - American relations was begun with a completely different nature than the alliance ones of the previous twenty years.
