O cálculo de um sismograma para qualquer problema 3D vagamente realista é computacionalmente caro, e é por isso que métodos numéricos melhores estão constantemente sendo procurados para resolver o problema da propagação de ondas elásticas. Neste trabalho foram implementados dois métodos de volumes finitos em problemas sísmicos para analisar o desempenho deles neste tipo de problema tão desafiador e importante na sismologia computacional.
