This thesis attempts to explore the coverage of the yearly women's march in Pakistan, better known as the Aurat March, in the local and Urdu media of the country. Aurat March is one of the most contested events in the South Asian country, creating polarised opinions - in favour and against - in society. The same divided rhetoric is seen in the media. The thesis looks into 80 articles, covering a span of the last two years, from 2019 till 2021, by 4 local Urdu publications: Ummat, Express Urdu, Jang and NawaiWaqt and applies grounded theoretical methods to find how the march is portrayed in the media, the latter's perception of Western-style feminism and whether or not the coverage is influenced by religious nationalism and patriarchal value...
