This work aims at a theoretical review of the pedagogical skills of the online tutor, discussing asynchronous communication – forum – as a way to reduce the transactional distance pointed out by Michael G. Moore (2013), as that which goes beyond physical distance. Two real cases of communication between student and tutor were analyzed and discussed, using the forum tool of the distance Pedagogy course (EaD) of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), in which it was possible to observe the possibilities of feedback from the tutor.
