The affirmative power of mourning and the claim to the collective memory of those killed by COVID-19

The pandemic of the new coronavirus imposed an unprecedented humanitarian, economic and health crisis, its impacts cannot be measured, but we know that profound transformations stem from this historic moment. We were isolated, attacked by an enemy that, even invisible, was able to expose our flaws as a society. The present work aimed to analyze the phenomenon of mourning, based on reports of collective actions, news, articles and perceptions of the political and social context in Brazil. We carried out a qualitative research in an attempt to discover the path of mourning in our society, we made use of scientific studies as a compass for the construction of this work, we supported ourselves in support groups for the bereaved and in concerns that permeate society. Hand in hand with the collective, we seek to outline the horror and neglect in the face of the loss of thousands of lives, discussing actions and their absence. When walking this path, we realize that we carry the marks and memories of what was lived and it is necessary to honor the memories of our dead and this involves remembering the past and paying attention to the present, so that the past does not update in the future.Pesquisa sem auxílio de agências de fomentoTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)A pandemia do novo coronavírus impôs uma crise humanitária, econômica e sanitária sem precedentes, seus impactos não podem ser mensurados, mas sabemos que transformações profundas decorrem desse momento histórico. Fomos isolados, acometidos por um inimigo que, mesmo invisível, foi capaz de escancarar as nossas falhas enquanto sociedade. O presente trabalho se propôs a analisar o fenômeno do luto, com base nos relatos de ações coletivas, notícias, artigos e percepções do contexto político e social do Brasil. Realizamos uma pesquisa qualitativa na tentativa de desbravar o percurso do luto em nossa sociedade, fizemos uso de estudos científicos como bússola para a construção desse trabalho, nos amparamos em grupos de apoio aos enlutados e em inquietações que permeiam a sociedade. De mãos dadas com o coletivo, procuramos dar contorno ao horror e o descaso diante da perda de milhares de vidas, discutindo ações e a ausência delas. Ao trilhar esse caminho, percebemos que nós carregamos as marcas e lembranças daquilo que foi vivido e faz-se necessário honrar a memórias dos nossos mortos e isso passa por lembrarmos nos do passado e nos atentar para o presente, a fim de que o passado não se atualize no futuro
