Hubungan Kecemasan dengan Tekanan Darah Penderita Hipertensi pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 di Wilayah kerja Puskesmas Padang Selasa

Background:Hypertension is one of the co-morbidities of COVID-19 where hypertension will worsen the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and is a risk factor for death. This causes anxiety that can cause sympathetic stimulation and increases heart rate, cardiac output and vascular resistance, this sympathetic impact increases blood pressure. Purpose:This study aims to determine the relationship between anxiety and blood pressure in patients with hypertension during the COVID-19 pandemic in the work area of the Padang Tue Public Health Center. Method:Qualitative research with analytical serve design, purposive sampling technique, the population in this study amounted to 214 respondents and the sample in this study was 75 respondents, the instrument used was the STAI-Y anxiety questionnaire data collection on 28 June – 5 July 2022. The statistical test used kendal know. Results:The results of the research by univariate respondents showed that most of the respondents were in the early elderly (55-60 years) as many as 24 (32.0%), female respondents as many as 42 (56.0%), the majority of respondents' education was at the elementary education level as many as 31 ( 41,3%), the majority of respondents' blood pressure level 2 hypertension was 41 (54.7). The results of the bivariate study showed that there was a moderate positive relationship between anxiety and blood pressure with a value of (τ = 0.235; P = 0.029). Suggestion:For people, especially those who have a history of hypertension and who have entered old age, to maintain mental health during the pandemic by thinking positively and keeping blood pressure in the normal range because this is a risk factor for COVID-19 that is at high risk for infection, so it is expected to take better care of yourself. health and apply existing health protocols properly, perform stress management and take good care of themselves
