ABSTRACT Strengthening the cultural identities of Pacific and New Zealand born Polynesians living in New Zealand remains a rising issue. The ever-changing social and political environment over the years has caused this issue to shift accordingly. The influence of these contexts have resulted in a sense of disconnectedness with cultural identity within these groups.
