The TCP/IP header compression (HC) problem on wireless channels is investigated. After a brief review of the existing HC algorithms, two novel PIC schemes are proposed, discussed and tested by means of simulations. The proposed. schemes outperform the well-known approaches for all possible channel conditions, and the results are very close to the ideal case of HC without loss of synchronisation
