The main objective of this thesis was to improve knowledge on the capacity of microalgae and Cyanobacteria to produce Exopolysaccharides (EPS). Screening carried out on 166 strains from the Roscoff Culture Collection (RCC) made it possible to identify 45 new potentially EPS producers. Biochemical studies using High Performance Anion Exchange Chromatography with a Pulsed Amperometric Detector (HPAEC-PAD), and Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) confirmed the polysaccharide nature of 20 new identified polymers.
