Synchronization of multi-agent systems has received significant attention in the literature due to applications in different domains such as physics, biology, economics, medicine, telecommunication, etc. These multi-agent systems can be homogeneous (identical dynamics) or heterogeneous (non-identical dynamics). The major difficulties that arise in the control and analysis of the multi-agent systems are due to the heterogeneity and the network size. Heterogeneous networked systems have more complex dynamic behavior, and asymptotic synchronization may not be guaranteed.
